Our tax department was assigned to draft a legal opinion for the Lufthansa Group, for the Group to structure their activity in compliance with German, Bulgarian and EU tax legislation. The raised matters were concerning issuance of invoices to passengers, as the group carries out its activities in Bulgaria through a Representative Office, which is not a legal entity. Our team also gave an opinion on the issuance of electronic invoices with regards to the group’s activity, with the goal to optimize the group’s compliance with tax legislation, ease their paper turnover and create an overall time and cost-effective mechanism for issuance of invoices. The Law Firm’s opinion included VAT deductibility on invoices for food supplies, which is a complicated matter, as it concerns Bulgarian and EU legislation on goods supplied on board of aircrafts.
